Wexford Spiegeltent Festival

From its inaugural year in 2012, Wexford Spiegeltent Festival has grown to be one of the biggest and most successful multi-genre festivals in Ireland.

The Spiegeltents are as rare as they are beautiful, lovingly designed and built by Flemish Master Craftsmen in the early 1920s. Only a handful of these unique and legendary “halls of mirrors” are left in the World today, each with their own unique personality and style. These hand hewn pavilions are constructed of oak with teak baroque dance floors and decorated with velvet and brocade canopies, bevelled mirror columns and stained glass windows. The beautiful circular venues feature intimate booths, ornate bars and Art Nouveau chandeliers.

The Spiegeltents have spent almost 100 years travelling to Festivals and Fairgrounds throughout Europe, Australia and the Americas, and have played host to the World’s great cabaret artists, musicians comedians and burlesque performers. Since Marlene Dietrich sang “Falling in Love Again” on the stage in the 1930s, their magic mirrors have reflected thousands of artists, audiences and exotic gatherings.

They are a feature of many international Festivals across the world including the Montreal Comedy Festival, Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Sydney Arts Festival, Spiegelworld Manhattan, the Udderbelly Festival in South Bank London and of course the Wexford Spiegeltent Festival.
